Went as Single booked into club section from Torornto. Stayed 3 days in motel 8 style building (no balcanies). Pays $120 extra for 4 days in Grand section. Stayed in Grand pool every day. 3 wrist band colors really bad idea. Other than a balcany and pool side room not really worth it. paid close to $800 off-season plus $250... more

I was just at this hotel last week (Sept 20-27) and I thought that I would write a review, good and bad! First of all, dont believe any of the weather reports you read. September is the rainiest season for Puerto Vallarta, but it did not ruin the trip at all. Most days it was gorgeous and sunny until late... more

There is no beach to lay out, the pool wasnt clear, the surrounding neightborhood was dirty. I wouldnt recommend going to that part of Puerto Vallarta, or the hotel. It is located in a very busy area with lots of traffic. So you have two choices; lay out at the patio and stare at the ocean with no beach, maybe... more

My first all-inclusive was at the Pelicanos and I was pleasantly surprised. This hotel really has a great location, excellent access to everything. The staff was amazing. Always polite and ready to help. Check in was a breeze, we got a nice size room with a balcony overlooking the pool area. Everything in the room worked well and the bed... more

My family stayed at the Plaza Pelicanos from July 26-July 31st, in Section 2, the Grand Section. We all greatly enjoyed our stay. I tend to write detailed reviews, so here is our trip, from beginning to end: The airport-Upon clearing customs at Puerto Vallarta, you end up in a room filled with timeshare sales people. Do not talk to... more

My wife and I had an awesome time at the Pelicanos Beach Resort. We loved every minute of our stay there. The entire staff, from the Front Desk Clerks to the Maids were all friendly, kind and nice to us. The food was good, although I would of preferred more of a variety. It seemed like the menu was the... more

I have been to over 47 countries and needless to say have stayed at a lot of resorts. Don't believe what you read about the resort not being clean or safe. This is a very safe/clean establishment. For the price, it was a great value. I highly recommend the all-inclusive. The restaurants Tamayo and The Italian restaurant have 5 star... more

When I initially read reviews about Plaza Pelicanos, I was thrilled. But the moment I got to the hotel, I knew that it was going to be much different than I expected. The place didn't seem ery safe as there were like 10-15 men holding assualt rifles and just standing around at the front of the hotel. They were there... more

Ours was a romantic, very amazing stay at the Plaza Pelicanos, as we chose to leave the kids home during this vacation. We decided to opt out of the all inclusive as it was our intention to visit more of Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita than the pool and bar at the hotel. However, we did enjoy a few very nice... more

Date: April 19 – May 2, 2008 Reviewer: Richard P. (65), Deborah H. (58) This was our third vacation at Plaza Pelicanos, joining our friends Richard and Karol from California who have been going there for roughly 15 years. We have become very comfortable with the accommodating staff at this resort. We stayed in the newer section rebuilt about 4... more
