I went into this museum with low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. The video at the beginning was wonderfully made and narrates the early history of Montreal. This museum explores the beinning history of the City of Montreal for the visitor, by allowing you to view partially excavated city buildings and streets right under and around you as you walk through!! "Strictly bush league museum"? Uh, okay. Whatever! This museum unearths the original city, folks. What more do you want? Not eveything needs to be accompanied by a ticker-tape parade. This museum may be small, but its approach is unique and exclusive, just like my beautiful city, ma belle province! Still, one can spend hours here. Well worth the visit. more

I recommend this museum highly--it provides a good overview of the history of the city, and the introductory video show is well done. (3-D animation projected on two screens.) This is no wonderful, huge museum, but in Old Montreal it is a nice one hour diversion. It is a good review of the history of Montreal and the feature is the tunnels dug under the city. In a few years they will expand the tunnels that they have dug and it will be amazing. more
